About this course
This 16-hour class qualifies you to apply for your Illinois Concealed Carry License. It is not a “show up and get your certificate” class: DMEC goes above and beyond the minimum state requirements so that students are prepared to carry a firearm for self-defense.
DMEC has taught concealed carry since 2014. The curriculum covers far more than the state minimum, with heavy emphasis on use-of-force law, conflict avoidance, and the serious responsibility that comes with carrying a firearm.
Recent classes run Thursday and Friday evenings from 6 to 10 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm, which completes the 16 hours the state requires.
